Even with the operating challenges facing the automobile industry, some automobile companies have found favor with customers across the world increasing the sales figures every passing year. Toyota is one such corporation, with so many of its units on the roads across the world.

Toyota Corolla

The Japanese maker has placed its Toyota Corolla on the global map as one of the best selling cars of all time. Even with the challenges facing the company since 1966, Corolla has been one of the favorites for many users across the world. This can be attributed to its affordability and reliability features. It is also one of the longest lasting cars because some customers have reported over 200,000 miles on their odometers and they still say it is strong. In the first quarter of 2014, Toyota Corolla sold over 276,000 units. Corolla has sold over 40 million units since its inception in 1966, making it one of the top selling cars of all time.

Volkswagen Golf

The perennial Volkswagen Golf is one of the top seller placing VW bandwagon in the world’s automobile industry. In 2014, VW sold 648,000 units of Volkswagen Golf and targets to be the world’s largest car maker by the year 2018. Surprisingly, sales of 223,249 units representing 27.9% from previous year’s placed the car in third position. Due to its affordability and great handling capability, 30 million units of Volkswagen Golf have been sold since 1974.

Honda Civic

To date, the automobile industry is still facing natural disasters. Honda Civic sales dropped by 12.5 % to stand at 555,000 units. Even with the gloomy operating environment, the Honda Civic is one of the favorites among users across the globe. Since its introduction into the market in 1972, records show that 16.5 million units of Honda Civic had been sold by May 2005. This makes it one of the best selling cars of all time. Since its introduction into the market in 1972, interestingly, records show that over 16.5 million units had been sold by May 2006.

Ford F Series

The Ford F series has made an impressive record placing it among the top best selling cars in the United States of America. 2014 recorded 919,000 units of Ford Focus sold across the world market. To align itself to the company’s global strategy, 2011 records show that 781,147 units of Ford Fiesta were sold. Even with the huge challenges facing the automobile industry, records show that Ford F series has sold widely in America for 28 consecutive years. Over 34 million units have been sold since inception in 1948.
