Rare Glimpse – Inside A Racecar!

Auto racing, better known as motor racing, automobile racing, or car racing is a type of sport that involves racing of cars on competition levels. The main aim in most racing events is setting the best time in a set distance or lap; the finishing order is mostly determined by the race time with the car with the best time being place in the first position regardless of when they get to last checkpoint. Now, race cars are not your regular vehicles. Without the sponsors’ information and the car number, the vehicle is just a regular machine but the interior says otherwise. Here are some of the important parts that make the vehicle unique.

Race Car Seats

Race car seats are not your normal vehicle seats, they are constructed with high performance and strength in mind. These seats are made to be lightweight but still provide a strong frame that ensures the driver is steady and comfortable. Since the driver needs to be comfortable, the seat wraps around the back and this provides a secure feeling that allows the race car driver to concentrate on the turns and the driving. The seat is designed to ensure that the driver is protected in case of an impact.

Dashboard

The dashboard of a race car is a complex one. If you find it intimidating to look at the more advanced normal vehicles then you will have a hard time looking at a racecar from the driver’s perspective. There are buttons controlling different elements in the car and there are instrument clusters showing different things such as fuel, temperature, speed, engine speed, oil pressure, charging system, volt meters, ammeter, among many others depending on the vehicle and the type of race.

Safety

When it comes to safety, race cars are some of the safest cars on the road based on the type of risks they face. The safety equipment include traction control, special seat belts that hold the driver and co-driver in place without risking comfort, multiple airbags and most importantly the rolling bars, rolling bars are welded in the interior and will ensure that the driver is in a cage that does not crumble in case the vehicle rolls several time. As much as race vehicles are involved in accidents, there are fewer injuries and fatalities because of the safety equipment in the vehicle combined with the drivers gear such as racing suits, helmet, racing shoes among many others.

The interior of a race car is not your idea of luxury because there are quite a number of instruments and buttons that will make the vehicle look like a complex machine. Most of the vehicle interiors are geared towards the comfort of the driver and the performance of the vehicle. Everything is designed to enable efficient driving and maneuvering because car racing is all about fast corners and even faster stretches. Modern race cars are equipped with state of the art instruments which ensure that the driver has everything they need to control the vehicle and speed to get to the next check point faster than other drivers.
