Important Features That A Family Car Should Have

  • by Patrick Gioko

When buying a family car, you have to consider many things, among them the interior and exterior features. You may not understand the constitution of a family car, but you are not alone in this, as many people don’t. There are numerous vehicle types spacious enough to make them good family cars. A minivan like Honda Odyssey is a good example of this. But the car size makes only a fraction of the whole equation. Kids require more things in the car in terms of safety, entertainment, space and so on. If you make sure that they get all these, the bugging days are over! You can now focus on the driving part!

How exactly can you keep the kids protected and jovial as you drive? This question rings in the mind of every caring parent. But look no further, below are a few features that can help a great deal:

Fully integrated sunshades

Younger kids require more sleep – there is no doubt about that. The suns rays should not get your kids way, especially when you need them to get a proper nap. Integrated sunshades are the only solution to this problem. To make sure that they are fully integrated, buy them from the trusted sunshade companies. Most sunshades from third-parties are of poor quality. The huge disappointment is that they can be unable to fully cover the rear car windows. You do not need such.

Programmable car key

Kids are a curious lot, whether they are in the “Terrible Two” stage or the confused teenage stage. Most of them are able to drive in their early teens but not safely. It is the reason why you need a programmable car key for their, and your car’s protection. The key has a number of capabilities including the minimization of the car speed and the radio volume. This is your chance to outsmart your kids in a caring way.

Collision Prevention System

Sometimes, the kids can get too playful. They can distract you as you drive. This can be dangerous, especially if you are on a busy road. The unthinkable can happen during such a time, which is why you need an alarm system to warn you when you drift off the road. Lane Departure Warning system does exactly that. On the other hand, Forward Collision Warning System signals you when you get too close to a car in front.

Built-In Vacuum Cleaner wherever possible

Yelling to the kids whenever they mess around is a bad idea. Do not kill their creativity – let them be. But of course, the car has to be cleaned up in the end. Get a car with a built-in vacuum cleaner to do the job. You may have to customize your car to add this feature.

Entertainment system

This is very important especially when you are taking the family on Safari. Kids need to be entertained and if they are of the cartoon watching age, airing their favorite cartoon series will keep them quiet for most of the journey and will help them keep their paws off each other. Have your family van customized with a good sized screen attached to the roof, immediately behind the front seats.
