The main reason behind this popularity is mainly based on the fact that the SUV has so much to offer in terms of features and safety aspects. With an easy sedan-like parking and vigor only found in a sports wagon, 2014 Mazda CX-5 has everything from the world of sedans and sports utility vehicles all rolled up into one, which makes it the best choice for the African SUV enthusiasts.

The Specs

The 2014 Crossover SUV Mazda CX-5 was created with an aim to successfully replace its predecessors as well as rival other popular brands such as the Honda CR-V, Chevrolet Equinox and the popular Toyota RAV 4. For this, the specifications were taken a notch higher to achieve the best results in both factors.

Fuel Efficiency

The fuel consumption on this vehicle is nothing short of impressive especially considering the fact that it is a sports utility vehicle. On average, the vehicle will consume 51 to 55 km per gallon on the highway and 38-44 km per gallon on city roads. Engine Performance

The basic Mazda CX-5 model has a 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine. The engine produces 155 horsepower at 6000 rpm. The basic model has a 6-speed manual transmission with the same for the automatic. There is a choice for all-wheel drive as well as a front-wheel drive. Mazda also offers additional sports, touring and Grand touring models that come with a 2.5 liter engine and automatic transmission only.

Interior Features

The 2014 SUV Mazda CX-5 has cloth front bucket seats, height adjustable. The rear seats are slit folding with rear ventilation ducts. The SUV has power mirrors, remote power door locks and one touch power windows. As for instrumentation, this 2014 crossover SUV Mazda CX-5 has a clock, trip computer, tachometer, external temperature display and low fuel warning. The vehicle boasts of a functional cruise control, front and rear cup holders, and electric power steering wheel with audio and cruise controls. As for entertainment, the CX-5 has an element antennae, CD player with CD MP3 playback stereo and AM/FM radio, 4 speakers, speed sensitive volume control, USB connection and auxiliary MP3.

Exterior Features
The Mazda CX-5 has variable wipers, intermittent rear wiper and rear defogger all great for the African weather. For beautification and aerodynamics, the vehicle is fitted with a rear spoiler. The wheels are all alloy with an inside mounted steel spare wheel. The tires are all season which is a perfect aspect for the African roads.

Safety Features
The most important thing when it comes to a vehicle is the safety factors and the 2014 crossover SUV Mazda CX-5 has a boatload of safety measures that ensures a safe drive on the African roads. The vehicle has airbags on the front as well as the back. It has an emergency braking assist, engine immobilizer, stability control, electric brake force distribution, 4-wheel ABS, child seat anchors, traction control, rear parking sensors among many others.

All the features and specifications are perfect for the African drive and this is the main reason why the 2014 crossover SUV Mazda CX-5 is the best choice for the Crossover SUV lovers in Africa.
